Four titles per year to be produced
Veteran distribution exec George Shamieh is planning to launch his own production and distribution company, American Cinema Intl.
Shamieh, who has served as prexy of established indie PM Entertainment for the past 11 years, will remain a consultant while debuting his new venture.
Shamiehwill team with partner Chevonne O’Shaughnessey in the new venture, with Shamieh assuming the title of CEO and O’Shaughnessey becoming prexy. O’Shaughnessey had been PM Entertainment’s veep of international distribution for nine years and, prior to that, an exec at Quest Entertainment.
Regulars at AFM, Cannes and Mifed, Shamieh and O’Shaughnessey have established relationships with domestic and international theatrical, video and TV distribs.
Using a combination of equity and bank financing to fund both inhouse productions and acquisitions, the team plans to produce about four titles per year while acquiring four to five titles annually. The company will also actively pursue feature film co-productions with international partners and develop original television series.

American Cinema Intl. has acquired “Mangler 2” from Barnholtz Entertainment and is in post-production on “Little Heroes 2.” In pre-production is “Fusion Factor,” a co-production with DMG Entertainment.
