Scorsese ‘Kundun’ doc to In Pics

Distribber to release the director docu in Gotham

Boutique New York distrib outfit In Pictures has acquired North American rights to Michael H. Wilson’s “In Search of Kundun with Martin Scorsese.”

The feature-length documentary follows Scorsese, director of the 1997 Dalai Lama biopic “Kundun,” during his encounter with the Tibetan people and their spiritual leader.

Canal Plus financed the doc, which Wilson, Dale Ann Stieber and France’s Compagnie Panoptique produced.

In Pictures will release the film in April in New York, expanding to other markets thereafter.

Scorsese and Wilson previously collaborated on “A Personal Journey with Martin Scorsese through American Movies,” with Stieber producing.
