NWE creative director goes to 'Planet,' 'Mars'

Nina Saxon gets to go cosmic with two space-titled projects. The VP/creative director of post-production facility New Wave Entertainment will develop the main title sequences for Mike Nichols’ “What Planet Are You From?” (Columbia) and Brian De Palma’s “Mission To Mars” (Disney).

“Title design is a very collaborative process,” Saxon said. “And my goal is to create a seamless opening that truly mirrors the director’s vision.”

Saxon, who recently completed main titles for Miramax’s “The Cider House Rules,” has been with NWE since 1997. Past title credits include “Forrest Gump,” “The Fugitive,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “Back to the Future.”

Allen P. Haines, co-CEO of NWE, considers Saxon a major force behind the rapid growth of the company’s graphic design group, saying, “Nina’s impeccable taste and creative vision … has served to make NWE’s graphics group an integral part of the overall success of this company.”
