The new homevid company Providence Home Entertainment Video, created in a deal between Providence Entertainment and Goodtimes Entertainment, has chosen “The Omega Code” as its first release.
Providence Home Video is planning a series of nationwide promotional projects to hype “Omega,” which will be distributed by Goodtimes Entertainment.
The Trinity Broadcasting Network will regularly broadcast trailers, movie scenes and actor discussions, and a $2 million media campaign, instituted through Ray Davies of Affiliated Media in Jacksonville, Fla., will include advertisements on BET, the Family Channel, Pax Network, WGN, USA Radio Network, Odyssey, USA Network and Salem Network.
Additionally, OmegaCode.com will champion the film, and a network of 2,500 volunteers will discuss the release with church groups.
Victor Vanden Oever, CEO of Providence Entertainment, said, “The project was designed to combine a Christian message with high-quality entertainment, production values and established stars. We will take this experience to the retail counter, using the combination of high-tech (Internet) marketing, media support and grass roots direction that made ‘The Omega Code’ a box office success.”
“The Omega Code” will be released next Easter in VHS and DVD format, and will sell for $19.95.
