57th annual kudofest announces qualified noms

Gearing up for next month’s Golden Globe Awards — the first major kudofest of 2000 — the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. unveiled Thursday the numbers of films and TV shows that have qualified for noms.

Making the grade are 195 feature films, 111 television series, 96 mini-series and 40 foreign-language pics.

Nominee selections for the 57th annual Globes will be announced Dec. 20 by Salma Hayek, Martin Sheen, Dick Clark, Victoria Principal, Steve Guttenberg and HFPA prexy Helmut Voss.

The awards show, exec produced by Barry Adelman and produced by Al Schwartz and Ken Shapiro, will be broadcast from the Beverly Hilton Hotel Jan. 23 on NBC.
