Rade Sherbedgia is joining the cast of Clint Eastwood’s “Space Cowboys,” the story of former Air Force pilots recruited for a new NASA mission.
Sherbedgia recently appeared in “Eyes Wide Shut” and has wrapped “Mission: Impossible II.” Other feature credits include “Mighty Joe Young” and “The Saint.” He is repped by Scott Harris at Innovative Artists and Tammy Rosen at Propaganda Management.

Peter Dobson will take on the lead role in the Studios USA drama “Just Act Normal,” which chronicles the lives of an undercover FBI family during the ’70s. Dobson will play the patriarch, who also holds down a day job as a Buick salesman. The hour-long series comes from exec producer and writer Shaun Cassidy and will premiere on the network early next year.
Best known for his perf in “Last Exit to Brooklyn,” Dobson recently completed lensing on Nick Gomez’s “Drowning Mona” opposite Danny DeVito and Bette Midler. Other feature credits include “The Marrying Man,” “The Big Squeeze” and “The Frighteners.” He also appeared in the recent HBO telepic “Lansky.” He was repped on the deal by Steven Levy and Cornelia Frame of Innovative Artists and manager Beth Cannon of Envision Entertainment.

Tasha Smith, T.K. Carter and Tyra Ferrell have landed roles in HBO’s six-hour mini “The Corner,” to be directed by Charles S. Dutton. The made-for chronicles a family’s struggle to survive in a drug-infested Baltimore neighborhood.
Smith will play Ronnie, a strung out heroin addict, in the telefilm slated to run next spring. She’s set to appear in five of the six segs. Her past TV credits include regular roles on NBC’s “Boston Common,” the WB’s “The Tom Show” as well as a recurring part on CBS’ “Chicago Hope” and many guest shots.
Carter plays a successful young man whose life spirals out of control as he becomes heavily involved in drugs. Ferrell will take on the role of a woman who runs a community center. Her pic credits include “Boyz N the Hood,” “White Men Can’t Jump” and “Jungle Fever.”

Diahann Carroll, Mare Winningham and Mario Van Peebles have joined Sam Neill and Carmen Ejogo in the cast of the CBS miniseries “The Sally Hemings Story,” focusing on the love affair between Thomas Jefferson and his slave mistress.
Carroll will play Hemings’ strong-willed mother, Betty, while Van Peebles takes on the role of her hot-tempered brother, James. Winningham will portray Jefferson’s eldest daughter, Martha. “Sally Hemings,” from Craig Anderson Prods., is lensing in Arlington, Va., for telecast next season.
