Sudser staple Sherri Saum will now pull double duty, joining the cast of Showtime’s series “Beggars and Choosers.”

Saum is a series regular on NBC’s daytime drama “Sunset Beach,” and has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy. On the rookie cable program, she will play an ambitious development exec out to undermine her boss’s (Charlotte Ross) authority. Saum has also appeared in “House Party 3,” “Air Heads” and “Blue Chip.”

Fox’s new drama “Manchester Prep” has added Ted Shackelford to the cast. The ColTriStar show is exec produced by Neal Moritz and is based on the feature “Cruel Intentions.” Shackelford, best known for his role on the long-running series “Knots Landing” has also done episodes of “The Outer Limits” and “Cybill” and appeared in Showtime’s “Dead Man’s Gun.”

Comedian Artie Lange has joined the cast of ABC’s WBTV skein “Norm,” now entering its second season. Lange will play title character Norm Macdonald’s half-brother.

Lange began his career as a series regular on the sketch comedy half-hour “Mad TV.” He has also appeared in “Jerry Maguire” and alongside Macdonald in the 1998 pic “Dirty Work.” He is currently onscreen in Universal’s “Mystery Men.”

Maureen Flannigan has joined the cast of Spelling Television’s family-friendly “7th Heaven.” Flannigan previously starred in the syndie series “Out of This World.”

Currently starring in the WB’s “The Jamie Foxx Show,” Garcelle Bouvais will also take on a recurring role in “The Opposite Sex,” a midseason series slated for Fox.

“Sex” takes place at an all-girl high school on the brink of gender integration. Writing team Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein are the show’s creators and exec producers, along with Randall Zisk and Rick Kellard.
