Football film films in fall
New Line Cinema has closed a deal with Mark Pellington (“Arlington Road”) to direct “One for the Ages.”
The pic centers on a football coach whose team dies in an airplane crash. He vows to assemble another team that will win the championship.
Gary Foster and Mark Steven Johnson of Horseshoe Bay Prods. will produce. Pellington’s producing partner Tom Gorai will also steer the project.
The film, written by David Murray and picked up in turnaround from MGM, will begin lensing this fall. Pic will be overseen at New Line by exec VP of production Lynn Harris and production prexy Mike De Luca.
Pellington is repped by UTA and lawyered by Karl Austen of Armstrong, Hirsch.
