Motor City revs up for ‘Swedish’

Curtis-Hall options Rokos script

Under his indie Motor City shingle, helmer Vondie Curtis-Hall (“Gridlock’d”) has optioned the spec script “The Swedish Job” by scribe Will Rokos.

Pic will be produced by Curtis-Hall and Helena Echegoyen and is out to directors.

Story is described as a dysfunctional heist comedy in the vein of ‘Fargo’: it revolves around a woman who has stolen money and is ultimately undone by her family on a trip to Stockholm.

Rokos co-wrote with Milo Addica “The Monster Ball,” a racially charged drama at one time set up at Fine Line but currently being produced by Lawrence Bender (“Pulp Fiction,” “Good Will Hunting”) and helmed by Curtis-Hall.

Rokos’ stage play “Most Wanted” will be produced by Kim Tambascia and Karl Thurmond and will open in Los Angeles next year.

Rokos is repped by Paradigm, attorney Jodi Peikoff and manager/producer Kim Tambascia.
