MGM will see if the grass is indeed greener with tyro scribe Jennifer Robinson’s spec “Married and Single,” which the studio has purchased for low- against mid-six figures.
Story is a comedy about two women — one married and one single — who decide to switch places for one week. Mutual Film Co. principals Mark Gordon and Gary Levinsohn will produce the project brought in by Mutual exec Tania Landau. Senior VP of production Elizabeth Carroll will oversee “Married” on behalf of MGM.
Pic is first feature sale for the scribe, who is managed by AMG.
Mutual Film Co. and Centropolis Entertainment will begin lensing shortly on the Revolutionary War pic “The Patriot” starring Mel Gibson.
