Pitch based on article from P.O.V. mag
Disney has bought the comedy pitch “Lone Man on Campus” for producer Beau Flynn, paying a low six figures.
Newcomer scribes Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder based the pitch on an article by the same title that they found and optioned from P.O.V. magazine. “Lone Man” tells the story of the first male student in a graduate writing program attended by 700 women.
Separately, Bandeira co-founder Flynn read the P.O.V. article and sent it to Disney.
Charmelo and Snyder, both graduates of Northwestern U., penned the spec script “Suicide Blond,” which won them an offer to write a comedy for MGM just a month and a half ago.
Charmelo and Snyder were repped by Endeavor and are managed by Andrew Dean at Gold/Miller. The Disney execs on the project are Jeff Clifford, Mark Vahradian and Todd Garner.
