Goldwyn inks for ‘Sixth Day’

'Earth' thesp to star opposite Schwarzenegger

Tony Goldwyn has inked to star opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in Phoenix Pictures’ “On the Sixth Day.”

Thesp recently starred as Neil Armstrong in HBO’s “From the Earth to the Moon” miniseries. Goldwyn will appear in the futuristic actioner as a billionaire financier who is funding a nefarious human-cloning project.

Pic centers on a man (Schwarzenegger) who returns home from work — only to find he has been cloned.

“Sixth Day” was scripted by Cormac and Marianne Wibberly; Roger Spottiswoode is helming.

Jon Davison, Mike Medavoy and Schwarzenegger are producing the pic, which David Coatsworth is exec producing. Goldwyn was repped in the deal by CAA and manager Scott Bankston at Eight Media.
