Destination Films has set a September start date for “Beautiful,” the film that will mark Sally Field’s directorial debut and will star Minnie Driver.
Pic centers on a young woman (Driver) whose obsession with becoming a beauty queen ultimately leads to her discovery of what’s most important in her life.
In addition to Driver, Hallie Kate Eisenberg (a young girl featured in Pepsi commercials) is in talks to sign on, as are Joey Lauren Adams (“Chasing Amy,” “Big Daddy”) and Leslie Ann Stefanson (“The General’s Daughter”).
Producers are Destination’s John Bertolli and Prosperity Pictures’ B.J. Rack. Two Drivers Prods.’ Kate Driver will exec produce along with Wendy Japhet and Richard Vane.
Destination will handle the pic’s domestic distribution, with Prosperity Pics taking international.
Pic will shoot in Los Angeles.
