Comedy concerns unhappily married couples, a hostage situation
Helmer Anthony Drazen has committed to direct “Fit to be Tied” — based on the novel “Made For Each Other” by Tony Kenrick — for Icon Pictures.
Icon will handle foreign distribution while domestic distribution is still up for grabs.
Pic will be produced by John Williams (“Seven Years in Tibet”) and Barnaby Thompson (“An Ideal Husband”) and written by Josann McGibbon and Sara Parriott (“Runaway Bride”); Parriott and McGibbon will also get producing credits on the film.
Story is described as a road comedy about two unhappily married couples who find themselves face-to-face with ex-lovers during a bungled heist and a hostage situation.
Drazen directed the film adaptation of David Rabe’s “Hurlyburly” and also “Imaginary Crimes.” McGibbon and Parriott are currently writing “The List” for Sandra Bullock to star in at Warner Bros.
Drazen is repped by his manager Brian Gersh of Blue Train Entertainment and his agent at WMA. McGibbon and Parriott are repped by Daniel Ostroff.
