Original Films has bought “Booked,” a pitch from the writing team of Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer for high- to mid-six figures. Columbia Pictures will distribute.
“Booked” is a story about a 26-year-old cop who goes undercover at Stanford U. to infiltrate and arrest a network of software thieves.
Neil Moritz’s Original Films, which bought the pitch out of its discretionary fund, will produce.
Original Films VP Heather Zeegen and creative exec Jennifer Tuthill brought the project to Moritz and Columbia’s exec VP Doug Belgrad, who will oversee its development.
Slavkin and Swimmer are expected to turn in a first draft in January. They are repped by William Morris.
