Bergman suicide prevention fund set up

Helmer Andrade honors wife, encourages others to seek help

A memorial fund for veteran voiceover performer and actress Mary Kay Bergman has been established at the Suicide Prevention Center of Didi Hirsch Community Mental Health Center.

Bergman, who is best known for her work on “South Park,” “Star Wars, Episode I: The Phantom Menace,” “The Iron Giant” and “Mulan,” committed suicide Nov. 11.

Husband director Dino Andrade has set up the Mary Kay Bergman Memorial Fund at the Suicide Prevention Center to honor his late wife and encourage others to seek help in times of distress.

The center operates a 24-hour crisis line (310-391-1253) and other programs to prevent suicide and assist the bereaved.

Donations to the Fund may be sent to Suicide Prevention Center, Didi Hirsch Community Mental Health Center, 4760 S. Sepulveda Blvd., Culver City, CA 90230. For more information, call (310) 751-5425.
