Stern nears finish on large-format Jordan pic
David D. Stern, who recently completed his directorial debut film “All the Rage,” is set to complete shooting the Imax film “Michael Jordan to the Max.”
Stern, who is co-directing the large-format film with Donald Kempf, will lens Jordan, one-on-one, on Tuesday.
“Michael Jordan to the Max” captures the real-life story of Jordan, at one time arguably the world’s greatest athlete.
Breaking down success
The large-format film, which producers plan to release in May, intends to transport the audience into the world of Jordan like never before: the superstar will discuss the keys to success, from his boyhood and formative years in North Carolina to his spectacular career with the Chicago Bulls.
Stern’s “All the Rage,” starring an ensemble cast including Joan Allen, Anna Paquin, David Schwimmer, Giovanni Ribisi and Gary Sinise, was submitted to the upcoming Toronto Film Festival.
Prior to directing, Stern produced more than 12 Broadway and Off-Broadway hits, including “The Diary of Anne Frank,” “Stomp” and “The Weir.”
Stern’s James D. Stern Prods. serves as presenting producer on “Michael Jordan to the Max” along with Donald and Steve Kempf of Giant Screen Sports and NBA Entertainment.
Stern is repped by Endeavor, as is Giant Screen Sports.
