Mandalay Pictures has tapped Ben Affleck to star opposite Robert De Niro in “The Score.”
Pic will go before cameras March 6 in Montreal, making it Mandalay’s next “go” film. Frank Oz (“Bowfinger”) will direct (Daily Variety, Oct. 31). Producers are Gary Foster (“Sleepless in Seattle”) and Lee Rich. Dan Taylor penned the screenplay, which was rewritten by Kario Salem.
Script tells the story of an older thief who hopes to retire and live off his riches, when a young kid blackmails him into doing one last heist.
Affleck appears in the upcoming pics “The Boiler Room,” “Bounce” and “The Third Wheel.” He recently starred in “Dogma” and “Forces of Nature.”
Mandalay is also set to begin lensing “Beyond Borders” with Oliver Stone at the helm, and starring Kevin Costner and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Mandalay’s last pic, “Sleepy Hollow,” has grossed north of $75 million to date.
Affleck and De Niro were both repped by CAA.
