WB taps Weiner as urban planning VP for ACMEcity

Newly created position third-highest in division

Marking yet another major promotion in recent months, Warner Bros. Online has upped Jeff Weiner to the newly created position of veep of planning, development and administration, the division’s third-highest position.

Weiner, 28, helped build the interactive division’s initial business plan as a senior analyst for Warner Bros.’ corporate strategic planning and development arm in 1995. He will oversee financial analysis, strategic planning and business development.

He previously served as director of planning, development and administration and will continue to report to prexy Jim Moloshok.

Weiner most recently helped launch ACMEcity (www.acmecity.com), a joint venture with FortuneCity.com that enables Internet users to create personal fan sites for their favorite films, TV shows and music groups.

Warner Bros. provides content such as news, graphics and photos to developers and monitors the Web sites for questionable materials. About 150,000 fan sites have already been created through 16 branded “communities” since ACMEcity’s launch Jan. 13.
