HOLLYWOOD — Warner Bros. said Tuesday it plans to brand its films’ directors online through individual Web sites, with the first devoted to Renny Harlin, whose shark thriller “Deep Blue Sea” opens today.
RennyHarlin.com, which also launches today, features the Finnish-born helmer’s biography, filmography, video clips and behind-the-scenes photography from the sets of his pics, as well as a list of personal links, an e-mail address and updates of his current projects.
Harlin helped develop the site, which was created while “Sea” was shooting at Fox Baja Studios in Rosarito, Mexico.
“RennyHarlin.com is going to let me keep movie fans up to date on all of my new projects, as well as fill them in on a few things they may not have known about my previous films,” said Harlin.
Warner Bros. said it is creating sites for a dozen directors, including Harold Ramis (“Analyze This”) and David O. Russell (“Three Kings”).
“RennyHarlin.com will continue to grow and will soon be joined by sites for other talented directors who see the Internet for all its creative potential,” said Don Buckley, senior veep of theatrical marketing and new media for Warner Bros.
The official site for “Sea” has been up for eight months.
