Distinguishing “Wasteland” from the fall’s crowded pack of teen sudsers, ABC has launched a companion Web site that will stream unaired story segments from the series exclusively online.
The venture marks the first time ABC has beefed up its programming through bonus ‘Net-only scenes, but it probably won’t be the last time, said ABC Internet Group spokeswoman Michelle Bergman.
After each “Wasteland” episode (the series bows this Thursday), ABC.com will preem new footage, either as stand-alone segs or storyline extensions. Site also will preview upcoming character relationships and feature music heard from the show.
“This is unique in that the site will consist of original, exclusive content elements allowing viewers to become intimately involved with on-air storylines like never before,” “Wasteland” producer Kevin Williamson said.
