Smith, Corson to explore marketing, ad opportunities

Sony Online Entertainment has upped two key execs in its advertising department.

James Smith, previously national ad manager, has been upped to national director of advertising sales, to be based in SOE’s New York offices.

Prior to joining Sony, he held positions at Rolling Stone magazine, Chiat Day and BBDO.

Allison Corson has been upped to Western region manager.

Previously a new media account executive at the Weather Channel’s Web site, Corson will be based out of SOE’s Los Angeles office and will be responsible for overseeing all West Coast ad sales. She will report to Jim Smith.

Both execs will work to offer integrated marketing and advertising opportunities across the SOE network, which include gaming Web site, movie and television sites from Sony Pictures Entertainment Online and music sites from Sony Music Online.
