NEW YORK — NBC said Monday that three of its Web sites, Snap.com, NBC.com, and NBC Interactive Neighborhood, signed deals with Net2Phone Inc. to distribute and market Internet telephony services.
The agreements call for Net2Phone’s PC-to-telephone service to be prominently positioned within the Snap.com portal. Users with Net2Phone software and a multimedia PC will be able to browse phone listings and dial any number by clicking on it. NBC and GE Capital, both units of General Electric Co., and Snap.com will all acquire equity stakes in Net2Phone, and NBC will nominate one member to Net2Phone’s board.
Net2Phone will have a featured link on the NBC.com home page and be integrated throughout NBC Interactive Neighbor-hood, NBC’s online network of owned and affiliated television stations.
Net2Phone shares soared more than 23% Monday on the news, closing up $3.14 at $20. 37.
