In an effort to restructure its sales force across its Internet operations, MTV Networks Online has upped Peggy Mansfield to senior veep of advertising sales, a newly created post.
Based in New York, Mansfield will oversee the formation of a centralized sales org that will help advertisers make buys across all of MTV’s online properties. These include subsids MTVi (which includes music sites VH1.com, MTV.com and SonicNet.com) and family-friendly Nickelodeon Online (Nick.com, Nick-at-Nite.com and TVLand.com).
Mansfield will report directly to Fred Seibert, prexy of MTV Networks Online.
Knack at Nick
Mansfield was veep and publisher of Nickelodeon MediaWorks, which includes Nickelodeon’s online destinations, Nickelodeon magazine and Rugrats Comic Adventures.
“Peggy is one of the most aggressive and creative advertising sales executives in the industry,” Seibert said. “Peggy was tremendously successful as the head of Nickelodeon Online Sales, with revenues increasing 160% since 1998, and will be instrumental as we continue to outpace the growth in the marketplace.”
Mansfield added, “We are aggressively creating new advertising programs that will help us to dramatically increase revenues and growth for MTV Networks Online.”
Prior to joining Nickelodeon in 1994, Mansfield served as advertising director of Disney’s Adventures magazine. She has also held senior advertising posts at the New York Times Magazine Group and Earnshaw Publications.
Separately, Allan Infeld has been upped to veep of advertising sales for MTVi, while Stacy Nathan will move up to national advertising director for Nickelodeon Online.
Both Infeld and Nathan will report directly to Mansfield.
