LONDON — Guy East and Nigel Sinclair’s Intermedia is getting up to speed on the Internet with the launch of a Web site exclusively for distributors of its films.
Gaining access with a password, distribs will use the site to find marketing information and materials.
“We believe Intermedia is the first film company to offer such an Internet service,” said Paul Davies, head of worldwide marketing.
Information on the site will include production notes, biographies and synopses, worldwide release dates and distributor contacts, key artwork, photography and campaigns, publishing and music tie-ins, as well as set reports while the films are in production.
“With 10 films about to go on theatrical release worldwide over the next few months, there is a constant demand for information from our distributors,” Davies commented. “While we try to keep them updated with telephone calls, and regular faxed and e-mailed bulletins, the information changes so frequently that a Web site is the only really effective way to achieve this.”
Site will also function as a forum for distribs to compare notes with each other on their own marketing plans.
