In an effort to push ad sales, Playboy Online has tapped two key executives in its advertising department.
Martha Martin joins the company as veep of Internet advertising, while Pamela Mitchell has been tapped veep of international sales.
In her new position, Martin will oversee all online advertising sales efforts, managing Playboy Online’s sales staff in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco while serving as the primary contact with outside advertising rep firm 2Can Media.
She replaces Lisa Natale, who has assumed a newly created position as division veep, marketing services, for Playboy Online.
Martin previously worked at CMP Media, where she was Eastern regional manager of online division CMPnet. Before joining CMP, Martin was director of affiliate relations for E! Entertainment Television.
Mitchell is responsible for expanding Playboy Online’s presence in international markets by developing existing affiliate relationships and creating alliances.
Multiplying like rabbits
She will work with Playboy’s international publishing partners to develop individual Web sites for Playboy magazine’s 17 international editions.
Mitchell joins Playboy from Discovery Communications, where she most recently served as director of sales and marketing for Discovery Enterprises Worldwide. In that position, she oversaw business development for multimedia, video, online and book distribution in Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.
Before joining Discovery, Mitchell oversaw sales and marketing for Knight-Ridder Financial/Americas for U.S., South American and Canadian distributors.
