Evers to tinker in Disney

VP to oversee product development

Disney Interactive has tapped Frank Evers as veep of product development and production.

He will report to Jan Smith, senior veep and general manager, Disney Interactive worldwide, who made the announcement.

Evers will assume overall responsibilities for the development of all Disney Interactive products. In this capacity, he will oversee staffing, long-range product planning, and the development of policies, processes and quality assurance procedures for product content.

Before joining Disney, Evers was veep of production at gaming publisher Activision, spearheading production efforts for the MechWarrior 2 and Vigilante8/Interstate franchises.

Prior to that, he was with Sierra On-Line serving as producer-director on several interactive products, including “EarthSiege 2,” “Silent Thunder” and “Command: Aces of the Deep.”

Disney Interactive develops, markets and distributes a wide variety of interactive, family-oriented entertainment and educational CD-ROMs and videogames.
