CheckOut chalks Talk City co-deal

Live events, chats part of the talk

Michael Ovitz’s CheckOut.com has inked a multiyear co-marketing deal with Talk City, becoming the online chat service’s exclusive e-commerce seller of music, movies and games. Under the revenue sharing deal, CheckOut.com will sell CDs, DVDs, VHS, console and PC games in Talk City’s music, film and game areas.

CheckOut.com and Talk City will also co-host live events, where CheckOut.com will secure artists and celebrities most likely affiliated with Artists Management Group, for exclusive chats available to fans only at CheckOut.com and Talk City’s sites.

“Talk City’s proven leadership in building online communities is the perfect fit with CheckOut.com’s commitment to providing entertainment fans with a compelling environment to communicate online,” said Richard Wolpert of the Yucaipa Cos., which took an equity stake in Talk City in May.

CheckOut.com is launching in July.
