Deal gives HK group technology rights
NEW YORK — Internet tech company CDKnet plans to announce today a licensing agreement with Asia Pioneer Ltd., a Hong Kong group serving the giant Chinese-speaking population worldwide.
The deal, worth about $3 million in cash and Asia Pioneer stock, grants the Hong Kong group the right to CDKnet’s web-connected multimedia CD technology — enabling Asia Pioneer to offer customized CDs on its new beatasia.com music website.
Beatasia will launch Dec. 18 with the webcast of a world premiere musicvideo from Asian star Aaron Kwok.
CDKnet’s proprietary technology links audio, video and the web. The company said its MixFactory is the only site where consumers can mix CD-quality music with full-motion video to create their own customized multimedia.
