CastNet taps Pyle prexy

Exec to oversee casting operations

New media producer Rod Pyle has been tapped as prexy of online casting service TEI/CastNet.com.

As president, Pyle will be responsible for all aspects of the Los Angeles-based company’s operations. He will report to chairman Paul Kessler and co-chairman Thom Mount, former prexy of Universal Studios.

Prior to joining CastNet, Pyle was head of production of FilmFair; prototyped the “Star Trek: Special Effects Studio” CD-ROM; founded Cinema Pacific Prods., a supplier of educational films, shorts and TV commercials; and produced and directed documentaries for the Arts & Entertainment cable channel. He recently designed the new- media department at Pasadena City College.

CastNet, a subsidiary of the Entertainment Internet Inc., represents about 32,000 actors, an 85% growth since last year, in its database. More than 200 casting directors and talent agents use the online service.
