Brian Bowman has been tapped vice president and general manager of ABC.com.
Bowman will oversee all ABC.com operations and supervise the company’s New York and Los Angeles staffers. He will report to senior VP and general manager of the ABC Internet Group Patricia Vance.
Most recently, Bowman worked as director of new media at the Disney Channel, leading Zoog Disney, the cabler’s blend of on-air and online programming. Bowman is also credited with increasing the number of hits to Disney Channel’s Web site by 1000%.
“We look forward to Brian’s leadership in continuing to build increasingly converged applications between the Internet and television,” said Vance.
Prior to the Disney Channel, Bowman worked in the business development divisions of Turner Broadcasting, Intervista and Electric Communities. Bowman got his career start as an engineer at Santa Barbara-based Wavefront Technologies.
