NEW YORK — In a signal that Viewer’s Choice plans to ramp up its production of original pay-per-view events, the company has hired Daniel York in the newly created post of senior VP of programming, development and event acquisition.
York will oversee such PPV programming as music, boxing, wrestling and other ring sports and the remainder of non-movie events. He’ll also get involved in the creation of PPV events under the banner of Viewer’s Choice’s newly formed unit, In Demand Entertainment.
Formerly, York was VP and G.M. of HBO’s Time Warner Sports/TVKO Pay-Per-View. He joined Time Warner Sports in December 1990.
