Taylor, Guider named to exec positions
Several changes in title and responsibility at Variety and Daily Variety were announced by Peter Bart, Vice President and Editor-in-Chief.
Jonathan Taylor and Elizabeth Guider were promoted to the new position of Executive Editor. Taylor has been with the newspaper for 7-1/2 years and Guider for 11 years.
Named as Managing Editors were Timothy M. Gray and Todd Cunningham, with Gray focusing on weekly Variety and Cunningham on Daily Variety. Phil Gallo assumes the role of Associate Editor for both newspapers.
Two new Assistant Managing Editors were appointed, Michael Speier, who oversees Daily Variety Gotham, and Kirstin Swanson, whose efforts span all of the publications.
Chris Petrikin, a film reporter, has been appointed News Editor and will spearhead the work of the news staff, reporting directly to the Editor-in-Chief. Lindsay Chaney and Carole Horst will serve as Senior Editors.
In addition to these appointments, Bart announced that Christian Moerk will re-join Variety as Senior Writer. Moerk was a reporter for Variety before working for Warner Bros. in a development capacity.
