Exec served as director of development

Universal Pictures has upped Holly Bario to vice president of production.

Bario has served as director of development for Universal since 1996. During her tenure, Bario has worked on such pics as the current release “The Bone Collector” and 1998’s “Bride of Chucky” as well as the upcoming “Man on the Moon,” starring Jim Carrey; “The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle,” toplined by Robert De Niro, Jason Alexander and Rene Russo; and “Meet the Parents,” also starring De Niro and Ben Stiller.

“We’re thrilled to announce Holly’s promotion to vice president,” said U’s president of production Kevin Misher on Monday. “She has proven herself to be highly resourceful and a tremendous asset to the excellent production team we currently have in place.”

Bario joined U from TriStar, where she worked in various production positions.
