Tom Ruzicka has been promoted to senior veep, production, Universal Cartoon Studios.
In his new role, Ruzicka will supervise all animation productions for television and direct-to-video. He will also play a key role in developing special projects and new media.
Universal Family and Home Entertainment production executive veep Bob Rubin said, “In just one year, Tom has made significant contributions to the growth of Universal Cartoon Studios as a thriving animation production house.”
Ruzicka joined the toon studio last year as VP of production. Under his management, it produced its first animated theatrical short in 30 years, “The Phox, the Box and the Lox,” based on Jay Ward’s Fractured Fairy Tales.
Prior to joining U, Ruzicka was involved with Disney’s TV animation division and direct-to-video unit.
