Universal Studios Home Video has tapped independent homevideo promo whiz Barbara Watts as veep.
Watts, who segues to the vid arm from her Barbara Watts & Associates outpost, will oversee national promotions for the studio’s vid releases.
Her close ties with such corporate America titans as American Express, MCI and General Mills, among others, has resulted in major video promo tie-ins for many of the town’s top studios.
“Barbara’s extensive expertise in the strategic development of promotional and tie-in programs is invaluable,” said Ken Graffeo Sr., marketing senior veep for the vid arm.
He said Watts’ background will be instrumental in helping the vid arm “strive to increase product awareness and capitalize on brand recognition in the marketplace.”
Watts is a 14-year vid industry vet. For the past seven years she was prexy of her own firm.
