Furthering the restructuring that began over a year ago at Universal Home Video as well as its integration of Polygram’s homevideo assets, the vid arm is expected to announce today a significant reorganization.
Among the first moves expected is the segueing of Stewart Till, prexy of Polygram Filmed Entertainment U.K., to run Universal’s overseas outpost.
Senior sales veep and industry vet C. Bruce Pfander, meanwhile, is expected to exit.
Craig Kornblau, exec veep and general manager of Universal Music and Video Distribution, will nab an ascension as part of an expanded role reshaping the vid arm, according to insiders. He’ll essentially be wearing two hats: one working for the distribution arm, and one with the homevideo arm. He was brought to UMVD from Disney’s Buena Vista vid distrib over a year ago to reshape U’s video outpost and strengthen distribution efforts.
According to insiders, exec veep Andrew Kairey will also be ankling eventually, as U continues to thin the upper ranks of Polygram Video execs.
The new structure, with other aspects still to be announced, will also permit the integration of Polygram Video into the Universal fold, mirroring the music group’s massive realignment of its assets and execs in the wake of Seagram’s $10.4 billion purchase of Polygram late last year.
