TV Guide to start Spanish insertion

Celebrity Dish mag to focus on interviews, recipes

NEW YORK — The growing importance of the Spanish-speaking audience to U.S. showbiz has prodded TV Guide into creating a 16-page insert completely in Spanish.

TV Guide will sell the issues containing the Spanish-language insert only at newsstands in the top 15 Hispanic markets, which reach about 5.6 million Latino homes, or 68% of the total Hispanic market. The insert hits newsstands beginning in October.

The magazine also said it will spin off its popular Celebrity Dish section into a separate monthly magazine. Called TV Guide Celebrity Dish, the magazine will focus on interviews with well-known TV performers and feature the favorite recipes of celebrities. The magazine kicks off in November.
