Traffic and ads boost Westwood One income

Second quarter revenue rises

NEW YORK — Westwood One said Wednesday a strong showing from its Shadow Traffic division helped boost second-quarter net income by 19% to $4.8 million as revenue rose 5% to $66.3 million.

The company, managed by CBS Corp.’s Infinity Broadcasting radio and billboard unit, also cited strong demand for radio network advertising.

Westwood One is a leading player in the radio network business, providing more than 150 news, sports, music, talk and entertainment programs, live events, 24-hour formats and Shadow Broadcast Services to more than 5,000 radio stations.
