NEW YORK — The resignation of Tom Rogers as president of NBC Cable last month has ignited an executive reshuffling that awards new responsibilities to three top NBC executives: Marty Yudkovitz, Dave Zaslav and Bill Bolster.
Yudkovitz, president of NBC Interactive Media, will take over responsibility for all of the Internet and digital-media activities of NBC that had previously fallen within the range of Rogers’ post.
Zaslav has been upped from president of distribution for NBC Cable to president of NBC Cable. His responsibilities will now encompass affiliate relations, affiliate marketing, development and strategy for both CNBC and MSNBC.
Bolster, president of CNBC, will take charge of all of CNBC’s international efforts. In partnership with Dow Jones and the Wall Street Journal, CNBC has created a program service that gets distributed to 140 countries throughout Europe and Asia. Bolster will also continue to be responsible for all of CNBC’s and MSNBC’s advertising sales.
All three men will report to Bob Wright, president and CEO of NBC, who will lead a group of NBC executives charged with scaring up new business development. In the group will be Rick Cotton, executive VP and general counsel, and Larry Rutkowski, chief financial officer for international and business development.
NBC’s agreement with Paxson Broadcasting, aimed at creating a second distribution outlet for the network by adding Paxson’s 49 TV stations to NBC’s 13, will fall into the portfolio of Randy Falco, president of the NBC Network. Scott Sassa, president of NBC West Coast, will be in charge of the programming side of NBC’s agreement with Paxson.
As part of Yudkovitz’s new responsibilities, he’ll oversee NBC’s interest in NBCi, the network’s publicly traded Internet company. Sassa will join the board of NBCi.
Yudkovitz and Cotton will supervise the business aspects of MSNBC, with Cotton joining the MSNBC advisory board.
