William Hausch has been tapped veep of strategic technologies for the digital studios division of Sony Pictures Entertainment.
In the newly created position, Hausch will oversee development of the studiowide digital asset management system, which will digitize SPE assets and information and allow global divisions such as marketing, finance, legal and publicity to access materials more efficiently.
Based at SPE headquarters in Culver City, Hausch will report to William Humphrey, exec VP of the division.
“William has many years of experience in dealing with entertainment companies, and he understands the complexities of information systems and support required to keep a global operation running,” Humphrey said.
The project will launch in April, beginning with the domestic marketing division. Hausch anticipates that an operational global system will be in place by December 2001.
Hausch joined SPE in 1983 and was most recently veep, studio systems, a job in which he oversaw the development of strategic business systems.
