Former Industrial Light & Magic director and visual effects supervisor Alex Seiden will lead the creative department of the new commercial and f/x shop Cyclotron.
Seiden, who ankled ILM at the end of June, will expand the overall creative capabilities of New York Media Group-owned Cyclotron and its partnered firm Post Perfect.
Seiden will work to strengthen the New York-based company’s broadcast, advertising and feature film projects by offering f/x and post-production services at the ground level. He will direct and work closely with actors as part of his duties.
His credits include “Jurassic Park,” “Dragonheart,” “Star Wars: The Special Edition” and “Terminator 2: Judgment Day.”
During his nine-year stint with ILM, Seiden supervised the company’s digital effects techniques, including motion control, model photography, animatronics and 3-D computer graphics.
Cyclotron and Post Perfect’s most recent projects include the opening for “The Late Show With David Letterman,” f/x for ABC’s “Spin City” and a new design package for Nickelodeon’s Games and Sports digital network.
