Jay Polstein has joined Handprint Entertainment as a producer to head theatrical production.
Prior to joining Handprint, Polstein served as a production executive for the Samuel Goldwyn Co. and Trimark Pictures.
Of teaming up with Handprint, Polstein said: “I am thrilled to have a chance to spearhead Handprint’s film production activities. Benny (Medina), Jeff (Pollack) and Dave (Guillod) have built an impressive roster of very visible talent as well as breakout young artists. … The managers at Handprint are a unique brew of intellect, aggressiveness and mirth that makes for an always stimulating place to work.”
As VP of production at Trimark, Polstein supervised an array of films, including “Eve’s Bayou.”
Handprint is a Los Angeles-based management/production company. Most notably, Handprint was intimately involved in client Jennifer Lopez’s first solo album for Sony and various projects for Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and Sean “Puffy” Combs.
Now in production at Handprint are “King Suckerman,” set up at Dimension Films; “The Fighting Temptations,” in partnership with MTV, set up at Paramount; and “The Fires” in partnership with Madonna’s Madguy Films.
