Exec does double duty
NBC exec John Eck has assumed additional duties as chief of operations at Pax TV.
Eck, who serves as president of broadcast and network operations at NBC, will handle double duty at Pax for six months. He will advise Paxson Communications chairman Lowell “Bud” Paxson and Paxson CEO Jeff Sagansky in all areas except programming, marketing and promotions.
Eck will report to Sagansky and spend a portion of each week at Pax TV’s West Palm Beach, Fla., headquarters.
The exec’s double duty is the latest example of shared duties between NBC and Pax since NBC agreed to purchase 32% of the company for $415 million in September.
“John’s experience in the broadcast operations, financial reporting and strategic planning areas make him uniquely qualified to bolster the operations at Pax,” Sagansky said.
Eck has overseen production operations, content distribution and facilities at NBC since July 1998. He reports to NBC president and CEO Bob Wright.
Prior to that, he served as senior vice president and chief quality officer at the network. Eck joined the Peacock in 1993 as vice president, financial planning and analysis.
