The Motion Picture Assn. has upped Harvey Rouse to VP and director of European Union affairs and European TV.
Rouse will continue to oversee public affairs and communications policy for the MPA Europe, Middle East and Africa office in Brussels, and will supervise TV industry issues. He will report to Chris Marcich, senior veep of the Brussels office.
Rouse initially joined the MPA in 1994 as a public relations specialist. He was promoted to deputy director of EU affairs in 1996 and was named director of the unit in 1998.
Prior to his work with the MPA, he coordinated European campaigns for a Brussels-based public relations company.
Jack Valenti, chairman-CEO of the MPA, said in a statement: “I salute Harvey and am delighted to recognize such a first-rate executive with this promotion.”
