NEW YORK — NBC’s chief employment attorney, Patricia Langer, has been appointed to the newly created position of exec VP, legal, business affairs and human resources, for Lifetime Television.
Langer, who was most recently VP, employment law and deputy general counsel at NBC Inc., will oversee the legal and business affairs and human resources departments at the femme cabler. Reporting to Lifetime prexy-CEO Carole Black, Langer will be involved in strategic planning for the company. She starts in her new position Jan. 3.
Since joining NBC in 1988, Langer has held numerous posts, including senior general attorney. In addition to overseeing all employment-related legal issues for the company, she assisted NBC’s general counsel in the overall management of the net’s legal department.
Before NBC, Langer worked for Pan American World Airways and was an associate at the law firms Webster & Sheffield and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
