Kolbe goes to VisionArt as exec VP

Rose ankles; forms Whisdom Entertainment

Former Centropolis f/x executive producer Marc Kolbe has been tapped to head VisionArt Design & Animation.

Kolbe will serve as executive veep of the Santa Monica, Calif.-based company, effective immediately, and replaces Joshua Rose, who has ankled to form his own film and television production company, Whisdom Entertainment.

Rose will remain as executive veep of VisionArt’s parent company Santa Monica Studios.

Before joining VisionArt, Kolbe oversaw all projects at Centropolis Effects. Other pics under his supervision include “The Faculty,” “Stuart Little,” “Flubber” and television shows “”Storm of the Century” and “Providence.”

He previously collaborated with VisionArt on Centropolis’ “Independence Day” and “Godzilla.”

Prior to Centropolis, Kolbe ran his own production and post-production shop Kolbeco Prods., worked on features and telefilms and produced, directed and edited music videos for Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and Cypress Hill.

VisionArt most recently created f/x for “Doctor Dolittle” and “Star Trek: First Contact,” among other pics.
