Buena Vista Television has named Eliot C. Goldberg director, development. He will be responsible for developing programming and identifying talent for first-run syndication, cable and network alternative series. He will report to Stephanie Drachkovitch, senior VP, development.
Goldberg joins BVTV from syndie show “Access Hollywood,” where he served as producer and interviewer. Prior to that he was producer for VH1’s 1995 Grammy Preview and daily late-night talker “Last Call.”

PricewaterhouseCoopers has upped Steven Abraham and Jennifer Taylor to co-head its communications and entertainment/media departments. They will assist clients who are moving into the expanding Internet and digital technology industries.
Abraham will continue in his role as managing partner of PricewaterhouseCooper’s global entertainment & media consulting department, where he advises clients on theatrical and studio operations.
Based in San Francisco, Taylor will continue in her role as managing partner of the Americas Communications department, working with telecommunication and cable clients.

Cartoon Networks has announced the promotion of Phyllis Ehrlich to VP of promotions marketing. Ehrlich will manage operations of the entire sales and marketing promotions department. Ehrlich came to Cartoon Network in 1997 as VP of marketing, licensed promotions.

Melinda Duchak has joined Univision Communications as VP of marketing and research for national spot sales. Duchak will oversee the research and marketing efforts for Univision’s national spot sales teams. Previously, Duchak was the director of national sales research for Lifetime Television.

The Southern California Broadcasters Assn. has announced the election of the board of directors for 1999-2000. Roger Nadel, VP and general manager for KFWB, has been elected chairman of the board. Ed Krampf, VP and general manager of KBIG/KLAC, has been voted vice chairman. Also elected were Dave Ervin, VP and general manager of KZLA, as treasurer, and David Haymore, general manager of KSSE, as secretary.

Larry Blackerby has joined Journal Broadcast Group as VP and general manager. He will oversee the management of KMIR-TV, which Journal Broadcast Group will take over in August. Blackerby was formerly VP and general manager of WJTV.

Marti Skold has been named weather anchor of KCAL 9’s Prime 9 News. She will report the weather weeknights during the three-hour primetime news format.
Skold’s career has spanned nearly 20 years, and she has won numerous honors and awards, including an Edward R. Murrow award.
