LAUSANNE, Switzerland — Recently bowed Dutch company Europlex Cinemas has taken over Metrocine, the largest cinema chain in French-lingo Switzerland. Metrocine operates 31 cinemas in Lausanne and Geneva.
Miguel Stucky, majority owner and prexy of Metrocine, remains as topper of the group he founded in 1985.
Stucky holds 51% of the shares, the Lausanne-based editing-group Edipresse 49%. Together, the two partners have now sold the entire package of shares to Europlex Cinemas.
U.S.-born and London-based Charles Wesoky founded Europlex Cinemas together with Soros Private Equity Partners (London).
