Exec named senior veep, TV music

Bob Hunka has been upped to senior VP, TV music, at Columbia TriStar TV Group.

He’ll be responsible for managing the music department at all Columbia’s TV production divisions, including primetime, daytime, firstrun syndication, reality shows and longform projects.

He’ll also work with the Spanish-language network Telemundo, which Sony partly owns.

The promotion was announced by Andy Kaplan, executive vice president of the Columbia TriStar TVGroup.

Hunka joined the company in 1989 and most recently served as VP, TV music, for the network production arm, Columbia TriStar TV. He oversaw soundtrack albums for series like “Party of Five,” “Mad About You,” “Dawson’s Creek” and soaps “Days of Our Lives” and “The Young and the Restless.”

Hunka also is involved in the Diana Ross and Brandy ABC TV movie “Double Platinum.” and the VH1 gameshow “Rock & Roll Jeopardy.”
